Challenge rules
A clear guide to daily reports, word voting, period finals and raffles.
The editor sets the challenge duration and daily page target.
Members may add more than one book and page range on the same day. Her Gün Kitap calculates the difference between the starting and ending page. The daily window is 00:00–23:59; once a new day starts, the previous day cannot be edited.
Each member selects one sentence and one word from a book they read, writes the meaning of the word and identifies the source book. The daily word is selected automatically by member votes. After every ten-day period, the winning words compete in a period final; at the end of the challenge, one final word is selected.
Members who miss the page target, the sentence or the daily vote are automatically placed in the penalty pool. The penalty list is visible at the end of the day and the raffle runs automatically. A book winner cannot enter another raffle until everyone has won a book.
